Meet our Creators

Dana printing a fine art lithograph with the printmaking press

Hi, I’m Dana Harris Seeger

I am a native Californian, tied to my Baltic roots in symbols, sight, sound and spirit; making art and advocating for art education in the heart of Silicon Valley. I co-created the School of Visual Philosophy with my husband, Yori in 2013. I really enjoy merging fine art with technology in my artwork, my business and now with my teaching.

Yori Seeger blacksmithing instructor, sculptor

Hi, I'm Yori Seeger

I am a sculptor working in bronze, wood, steel and cement. My main focus in all my artwork is education. I co-created the School of Visual Philosophy with Dana Harris Seeger in 2013 and continue to teach blacksmithing, woodworking and sculpting classes both in person and virtually.

Why our School is different

We have taught at universities, colleges and independent institutions all over the U.S. We have been students at many of the same types of institutions. We feel there is something missing from higher art education and even from the way artists are viewed by the society they represent.

Our School aims to do things differently. We challenge our society, our artists and our students to see artists as professional business entrepreneurs who not only have to build their skills but have to market themselves, sell their work, create their business models AND create meaningful work.

Our courses are designed with a holistic approach in mind- to give students and artists all kinds of ways to master techniques, form connections in other areas besides art and communicate their message in the best way possible.
