What is an Online Atelier?

An Atelier is a working artist's studio where students can observe, learn and create alongside their instructors in a professional setting. We designed this Online Atelier to be an integrated way of learning by example- giving students a look into a professional artist's practice while bringing them along the journey and sharing experience we have learned along the way.

Students enrolled in the Online Atelier will encounter a different way of learning than contemporary art education. By allowing you to see us at work, we lead by example, and all of our courses are designed with different learning styles in mind, taking into account the needs of our students.

Storytelling Program

The Storytelling Program is an integral part of learning art at SVP. We consider it to the be basis for how artists speak their language, and also one of the missing components in mainstream art education.

Our Resident Storyteller, Keith Gordon will guide students through identifying and integrating their story as the basic framework for creating their art.

Dialects of Art Program

The Dialects of Art Program facilitates the cultural empathy that artists need to speak the language of art across all spectrums. Whether it's the material, the form or the mood of a piece, each type of art represented in our other programs requires an understanding of the basic grammar of art, and how other cultures and methods use them.
